What you will find here
Most items are Nintendo: Game Boy (the original DMG-01, Pocket and Color), Super Nintendo (SNES) consoles and controllers, Wii and Switch items, and boxed games. There is also Sega Master System hardware, Sony PlayStation items, Apple computers, phones and accessories, and early mobile phones from Nokia and Siemens. The most common production years are 1985 to 1999.
How items are described
- Working order: each listing states whether the item works. Where it says no, treat it as a display or spare-parts piece.
- Packaging: in original box, in original sealed box, with a reproduction (repro) box, with a replacement box, or without a box.
- CIB (complete in box): the item comes with its box, inserts and manual.
- Old stock: never sold at the time and kept unused since.
- New shell: a console fitted with a replacement case, which is common on Game Boy Color units.
What to check before buying
- Region: Japanese, US and European consoles and games are not always compatible with each other.
- Screen condition on handhelds, battery-compartment corrosion, and whether a power supply is included.
- Graded games (for example a grade of 90) are sealed in a case and meant for display rather than play.
Most items here are between about EUR 400 and EUR 1,500. Each is a one-off, shipping is free, and every product page shows its ship-by date.
Frequently asked questions
What does CIB mean for a retro video game?
CIB stands for 'complete in box'. It means the game or console comes with its original box, inner tray or inserts, and the manual. Boxed retro games and consoles, especially Nintendo items from the 1980s and 1990s, are usually worth considerably more than loose cartridges or unboxed hardware, because cardboard boxes were often thrown away.
Will a Japanese Super Nintendo game work on a European console?
Not directly. Japanese Super Famicom cartridges have a different shape from European and US SNES cartridges, and European consoles also use a different video standard. Region adapters and modified consoles exist, but if you plan to play a game rather than display it, check that its region matches your console.
What is a 'new shell' Game Boy?
A new shell Game Boy has had its original plastic case replaced with a new, often aftermarket, case while keeping the original internal electronics. It is a common way to restore a worn console. Collectors seeking fully original hardware usually avoid reshelled units, while players often prefer them for their clean appearance.
